Come and Get It

A Tasty New Revue

Synopsis

Come and Get It is a salute to food and the many ways we put it away. With a cast of four to six performers, this revue includes familiar pop songs, standards, forgotten treasures, and original material.

The Candy Man, Blueberry Hill, I Heard it Through the Grapevine, and other pop tunes, are performed in unexpected ways. The standards, such as Shoo Fly Pie and Apple Pan Dowdy and On the Good Ship Lollypop, are also presented with new and catchy arrangements. Less familiar numbers such as Let’s Go Eat Worms in the Garden and I Found a Peach in Orange, New Jersey, are obscure but delightful old melodies.

New material features satirical songs like Starved for Affection in the Food Court of Love, a country-western take on fast food romance; The Early Bird, about the joys of thrifty retirement; Back to the Kitchen, an ode to poison; Food on the Move, a song about eating on planes, Cat Food, a cat’s eye view of supper time, as well as songs that poke fun at both meat-eaters and vegetarians.

Come and Get It is a whimsical banquet that will leave you hungry for more.
